BOTANICAL TOUR IN BHUTAN


Day 1:
Arrival Paro by Druk Air . You will be received by our representative and transfer to the hotel. Evening stroll around in town, visit cyber café, etc. Over night stay in a hotel.

Day 2:
Start the day early with a hike to Takshang Cafeteria for a view of Takshang Monastery, which is a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhists. This hike is approximately of two and half hours climb, and will give you acclimatization to your trekking. Afternoon, visit Taa Dzong (national museum of Bhutan), Rimpong Dzong, Kichu Monastery and a typical Bhutanese Farm. Evening Hotel.

Day 3:
After break-fast, drive to Taa Dzong to start your journey to see Blue Poppies & Rhododendron - Jele Dzong passing above Paro, then come across site of yak pasture at an height of 3450 m. Above the camp in Jele La (3490 m), you will see Jele Dzong(in ruins), and a Buddhist Monastery with a statue of Lord Buddha. On a clear day, you will have very good views of Mt.Jumolhari and Paro valley from this point. Your walk will be 4 hrs.; 10 km Overnight Camp.

Day 4:
Early breakfast, and start your day with a climb through thick alpine forest, you will come across lots of blue poppies and rhododendron varieties. Climbing further till 3590 M, you will come across a pastureland to reach Jangchu Lhakha. All along you will enjoy viewing the vegetation. Your walk will be 4 hrs, 10 km. Overnight Camp.

Day 5:
Start as usual with a climb, through small lakes and Phume La (pass 4210 M), where you will be greeted with lots of prayer flags. If the weather is clear, you will have great views of Mt.Gangkhar Phuensum and other Snow capped Himalayan mountain range, looking below you will have views of Thimphu valley. Your trail today goes through a vegetation of different varieties of Rhododendron and Blue poppies. Distance is 11 kms, and walk 4 hours. Overnight Camp at Simkota.

Day 6:
Trek to Phajoding ? walk is fairly easy today with not more than 6 km, which will not take you more than 3-4 hrs. walk. You can spend lot of time viewing flowers and other vegetation. Camp at Phajoding.

Day 7:
Trek downhill through the forest to reach the road head point at Motithang, Thimphu. Your car will be waiting you at Motithang and drive to the hotel. Trek downhill will only take you 3 hrs. After lunch sightseeing of Thimphu.

Day 8:
Continue Thimphu sightseeing and drive to Paro evening. Overnight Hotel. Day 9: Drive to the airport and departure.
